J. Nigel Ellis, Ph.D., CSP, PE, CPE
Dr. J. Nigel Ellis has more than 38 years of safety engineering experience. Founder and CEO of Dynamic Scientific Controls (DSC) and its division, Ellis Fall Safety Solutions, LLC, Dr. Ellis’ lifelong mission and that of his business is focusing on the elimination and control of fall hazards. Dr. Ellis is a founding member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z359 Committee, the former chairman of the ANSI Z359.2 Committee, and elected member of ANSI A10 Construction Safety Committee and contributor to other ANSI and ASTM committees related to fall protection. Additionally, Dr. Ellis is a founding member of the ISFP and is a past chairperson of the International Safety Equipment Association Fall Protection Group.

Joseph Feldstein
Manager of Technical Services at MSA Fall Protection, Colorado, USA, Joseph Feldstein has 17 years experience in fall protection product design and standards development. He is a member of the ANSI Z359 Accredited Standards Committee for Fall Protection and has served as Chair of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (USTAG) to the ISO Fall Protection Technical Committee, ISO TC94/SC4, since 1999.

Peter Ferguson
A leading figure in Australia’s fall protection, pedestrian access, rope access and suspended access industries with some 40 years of experience, Peter Ferguson has been the driving force behind many Australian and international standards. Ferguson initiated the creation of an ISO rope access standard and has assisted with the development of numerous other codes of practice for the rope access industry. In 1993, Ferguson founded the Australian Rope Access Association (ARAA), where he currently serves as president. Ferguson is the owner of First Access, a consulting company for safety at height and an active participant of the following Australian Standards Committees: AS 1891, Industrial fall arrest systems and devices; AS/NZ 4488, Industrial rope access; AS 1657, Fixed platforms, walkways, stairways and ladders; AS 1418.13, Cranes, hoists and winches; AS 1576, Scaffolding.

Thomas Kramer, PE, CSP
Thomas Kramer, a principal and director of LJB’s Safety by Design® key service, has spent much of his career consulting with clients on the investigation and renovation of facilities–a process often requiring extensive and creative structural and safety modifications. He is an active member of the ANSI Z359 Committee on fall protection and chairman of the ANSI Z359.6 subcommittee on the design of active fall protection systems and the ANSI Z359.17 subcommittee on horizontal lifelines. Finally, he is a member of the program selection committee for the American Society of Safety Engineers’ Professional Development Conference.

Karl-Heinz Noetel, Dipl.-Ing.
Prof. h.c. Karl-Heinz Noetel is the director of the Technical Department of Berufsgenossenschaft der Bauwirtschaft, an accident insurance and prevention institution in Germany, and acts as coordinator for workplace health and safety issues in the construction sector. Actively involved in several standardization and membership organizations, Prof. h.c. Noetel chairs the Fachausschuß Persönliche Schutzausrüstungen, a technical committee responsible for PPE within Berufsgenossenschaften, chairs the Horizontal Committee within the European Coordination of Notified Bodies for PPE, heads the standardisation committee for PPE in DIN, and served as convenor of the Working Group CEN/TC 151/WG 8/Sub WG, “Machinery and plant for the preparation of concrete and mortar,” to name a few.
He has written numerous articles in professional magazines and performed countless seminars and training courses focused on occupational health and safety, the implementation of PPE and machinery directives, standardization, and testing and certification procedures.

Paul Seddon, OBE
Paul Seddon, OBE, has been involved in the development of standards for personal fall protection since 1974. Currently, Seddon works closely with the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA International) and is an active member of British Standards Institution (BSI) Technical Committee, the working groups of the European Committee for Standardization Technical Committee and the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee. In 2004, Seddon was awarded an OBE designation (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for services to the industrial rope access industry and was made an honorary lifetime member of IRATA that same year. Previously, Seddon was a director of Troll Safety Equipment, Ltd., a manufacturing company of climbing, caving and industrial safety equipment, which was sold in 1995.

Andrew Sulowski, P.Eng.
Founding member of the ISFP, Andrew Sulowski has been instrumental in advancing fall protection safety in both the United States and Canada for many years. Mr. Sulowski holds four patents on fall protection equipment and has written two books and innumerable articles related to the field. He has been an active member of the ASSE, ISFP, CSA (member and past chairman of the CSA Technical Committee on Fall Protection), and the Canadian Society for Safety Engineering.

Randall Wingfield
ISFP’s current president, Randall Wingfield, is extensively involved in the continuing development of national standards for fall protection equipment and training. Mr. Wingfield is the chairman of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z359 Committee, and former vice chair of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z259 Committee. He is also president of Gravitec Systems, Inc., a leading fall protection company located in Washington State, and a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
